Blank-Firing Prop Handguns

A revolver is a repeating firearm that has a cylinder containing multiple chambers and at least one barrel for firing. The first cartridge revolvers were produced around 1856. A semi-automatic pistol uses a single chamber and barrel, with a mechanism powered by the previous shot to load a fresh cartridge into the chamber. One round is fired each time the trigger of a semi-automatic pistol is pulled. A derringer is generally the smallest usable handgun of a given caliber. They were frequently used by women, because they are easily concealable in a purse or as a stocking gun. The original cartridge derringers held only a single round, usually a pinfire or rimfire .40 caliber cartridge, with the barrel pivoted sideways on the frame to allow access to the breech for reloading.
